GENERAL MANAGER POSITION

The Port of Lewiston Commission is seeking a dynamic individual for the role of General Manager.  This position is located in Lewiston, Idaho.

The General Manager reports to a Board of Commissioners, consisting of three elected officials, and provides the operational direction for the Port of Lewiston.  Serving as the Port Commission’s principal senior manager, the responsibility of the General Manager is to execute the policies, projects and programs as defined by the Port Commission. The General Manager will oversee all Port personnel and activities including Community Engagement, Economic Development, Property and Infrastructure Development, Fiber Optic Network Development, Transportation, Engineering, Finance, Government and Legal Affairs, Marketing and Public Affairs, Human Resources, and Grant Development.

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree or a minimum of five years of related business experience.

Please note, this position will initially serve as a “Deputy General Manager” under the guidance and training by the current Port Manager, as a transition period.  Both the Deputy General Manager and the current General Manager will remain on staff during this transition period.  The Deputy General Manager will assume the sole role of General Manager effective February 1, 2023, when the current General Manager exits employment.  Salaries will be negotiated for both roles served as Deputy General Manager and General Manager prior to hiring. The successful candidate would participate in a healthcare benefits package provided by the State of Idaho public employee program, retirement benefits with the Public Employees Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI) and a defined Paid-Time-Off accrual program (PTO) through the Port of Lewiston.
