City of Lewiston: 18th Street North Project, Nov. 4, 2016

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]18th Street North is one of the main semi-truck access routes to the Port of Lewiston and industrial districts. Before this area was reconstructed, it was disintegrating.

The Lewis-Clark Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization conducted a Northport Transportation Study in 2014, which identified this major route as an area to be improved.

Project Details:
This project included reconfiguration of the intersection at 18th Street North and State Highway 128, complete rebuild of 18th Street north of 4th Avenue North, water main improvements, storm drain upgrades, ADA pedestrian ramps and sidewalk.

This project required extensive coordination with the City of Lewiston, Port of Lewiston, Urban Renewal Agency, private businesses and property owners. 18th St. N. experiences significant truck traffic, so the street reconstruction is greatly appreciated by north Lewiston businesses and the Port.

This project is a great example of several public entities coordinating resources to achieve needed infrastructure improvements.
