2016-2017 Extended Navigation Lock Outage
CHANGE IN DATE FOR RETURN TO SERVICE OF LITTLE GOOSE NAVIGATION LOCK
2016-2017 Extended Navigation Lock Outage
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland and Walla Walla districts, are conducting an extended lock outage of the Federal Columbia-Snake River Navigation System (CSRS) to perform extensive, non-routine repairs and maintenance from December 12, 2016 through March 20, 2017. This extended lock outage is a coordinated effort between the Corps districts and CSRS stakeholders.
Walla Walla Navigation Lock closures on the Columbia/Snake started at 6 a.m. Monday, 12 December 2016 and the following sites remain scheduled to return to service by 2359 PST on March 20, 2017.
McNary Lock and Dam – Columbia River Mile 292, Chief Operator on Duty 541-922-2231
Ice Harbor Lock and Dam – Snake River Mile 9.7, Chief Operator on Duty 509-543-3231
Lower Monumental Lock and Dam – Snake River Mile 41.6, Chief Operator on Duty 509-282-7231
Lower Granite Lock and Dam – Snake River Mile 107.5, Chief Operator on Duty 509-843-2231
CHANGE: Little Goose Lock and Dam – Snake River Mile 70.3, Chief Operator on Duty 509-399-2233 x231
For Little Goose Lock and Dam, the Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, recently reassessed work progress and determined that at least an additional week beyond March 20, 2017 will be necessary to return the lock to service. The Walla Walla District intends to provide more fidelity on a specific return-to-service date at a Navigation Outage Stakeholder teleconference call scheduled for 3:00 PM PST on Tuesday March 14, and will continue to provide updates as the contractor work progresses.
