RETURN TO SERVICE
ICE HARBOR NAVIGATION LOCK

Ice Harbor Lock and Dam – Snake River Mile 9.7, Chief Operator on Duty 509-543-3231

Ice Harbor navigation lock returned to service at 2359 (11:59 PM) on March 23, 2017.

The cause of the noise associated with the gate lifting mechanisms has been identified; instrumentation was installed to measure, and the gate has been cleared to return to full unrestricted operation. The noise will not be eliminated, but is expected to continue at a lower volume and monitoring efforts are in place to ensure corrective actions have addressed the issues. Thank you for your patience as precautions and corrective actions were taken to ensure safe navigation lock operations.
