Let’s Talk Taxes Open House

The Port is Lewiston is excited to to partner with Nez Perce County, the City of Lewiston, Lewiston Independent School District No. 1, Central Orchards Sewer District, and others to present the first-ever “Let’s Talk Taxes” Open House on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lewiston High School, 3201 Cecil Andrus Way.

This new community event is an opportunity for Lewiston taxpayers to learn more about how property taxes work, how they are calculated, and where those dollars go.

Representatives from participating taxing districts and other agencies will be available throughout the event to answer questions and explain the services and programs funded by property taxes.

Lewiston residents are encouraged to bring their most recent property tax assessment and/or a previous tax bill to receive personalized assistance and have questions answered specific to their property taxes.

Community members are also encouraged to submit questions about property taxes in advance by emailing pio@cityoflewiston.org. By submitting questions ahead of time, organizers can help ensure the event addresses the topics and information most important to the community.

Educational information, answers to common questions, and event updates will be shared in the coming weeks leading up to the open house.

The open house will take place alongside the Lewiston Parks and Recreation Department’s annual P1FCU Star Spangled Celebration, which has moved to Lewiston High School this year. This year’s celebration is especially meaningful as communities across the country commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Attendees can enjoy local food vendors, games, activities, and fun for all ages throughout the evening. Whether you come for the celebration, the information, or both, community members are encouraged to stop by the Let’s Talk Taxes Open House to connect with local public service representatives and gain a better understanding of how property taxes support the services and programs that sustain our vibrant community.
