The Port of Lewiston receives a portion of its revenue through a tax levy collected by Nez Perce County. A mere fraction—less than one percent—of the property taxes paid by residents of the City of Lewiston is allocated to the Port. Since 1990, the millage rate for the Port has consistently declined, and currently costs the average resident under $15 annually. The remainder of the Port’s budget is funded through grants, tenant contributions, and income from dock and warehousing services.
