[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Port of Lewiston commissioners approved a $2.7 million budget for its fiscal year 2017.

Port officials say almost two-million dollars will go to economic development and job creation. They’ll also be working to develop 18 acres at the Harry Wall Industrial Park for business start-ups.

“The development of industrial properties provides the opportunities for businesses that are looking to locate here and for sites for those businesses to locate on,” said David Doeringsfeld, Port of Lewiston Manager.

The Port of Lewiston will also continue construction of a dark fiber optic cable network. This will help provide better internet access for people in the LC Valley.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
